Overview
A note records what happened on a given date, so the numbers can be read correctly later. A campaign launch, a sale, a site outage, a budget change, or a stock issue all change what the charts show, and without a note the reason is lost by the time anyone asks.
Notes are available from every page in the platform, not only from dashboards.
Access
Two buttons sit in the top bar on every page:
-
Add Note opens the create form.
-
View Note opens the Notes list.
Creating a note
Select Add Note. The Create Notes/Goals form opens.
| Field | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Date | Yes | The date the note applies to. Defaults to today |
| Title | Yes | A short label. This is what shows in the list |
| Media Source | No | Ties the note to one platform, such as Facebook Ads or Bing Ads |
| Campaign | No | Ties the note to a specific campaign |
| Ads | No | Ties the note to specific ads within that campaign |
| Notes | Yes | The detail. Say what changed and what it cost or was worth |
Select Submit to save, or Cancel to discard. The arrows in the top right of the form expand it if you are writing something long.
Write the detail, not just the label. The most useful notes in a live account read like "BOFU - Memorial Day Sale - 22 May 2026 campaign launched with $100/day budget." The budget and the campaign name are what make the note worth reading six months later.
The Notes list
Select View Note to open the list.
| Column | Contents |
|---|---|
| # | Row number |
| Title | The note title |
| Date | The date the note applies to |
| Media Source | The platform, if one was set |
| Campaign | The campaign, if one was set |
| Ads | The ads, if any were set |
| Notes | The note body |
| Actions | The eye icon opens the note. The × deletes it |
Use Search to filter by text. Set Items per page at the bottom to control how many rows show, and page through with the arrows.
What to check and when
-
Write the note when you make the change, not when someone asks about the number. A campaign launched with a daily budget is a note. So is pausing one.
-
Check Notes before explaining a spike or a drop. If someone launched a sale, the answer is already recorded.
-
Tie the note to a campaign where you can. A note with a media source and campaign set can be matched to the numbers it explains. A note with only a date cannot.
